Leandro A. Moreno passed away January 7, 2018. He was 66. Leandro was born June 19, 1951 in Taft, Texas to Emeliano Moreno and Guadalupe Moreno Vasquez and was a lifelong resident of Taft. He graduated from Taft High School in 1969 and was a parishioner at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. He married Adelfa Naranjo Moreno on October 27, 1972. Leandro was a Lance Corporal in the United States Marine Corps and a member of the Coastal Bend Marine Corps League. He had a career in law enforcement for the U. S. Department of Justice...

Leandro A. Moreno passed away January 7, 2018. He was 66. Leandro was born June 19, 1951 in Taft, Texas to Emeliano Moreno and Guadalupe Moreno Vasquez and was a lifelong resident of Taft. He graduated from Taft High School in 1969 and was a parishioner at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. He married Adelfa Naranjo Moreno on October 27, 1972. Leandro was a Lance Corporal in the United States Marine Corps and a member of the Coastal Bend Marine Corps League. He had a career in law enforcement for the U. S. Department of Justice Immigration and Naturalization Service until he retired.


He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Adelfa N. Moreno; son, Leandro A. (Laura Lee) Moreno Jr.; daughter, Amy Moreno (Mark) Proctor; six grandchildren, Scott Moreno, Regina Moreno, Katie Hernandez, Trey Moreno, Roy Moreno and LeeAndrew Moreno; five brothers, Eugene (Lenor) Vasquez, Mario (Carol) Vasquez, Benito (Lisa) Vasquez, Leonard (Susie) Vasquez and Michael (Elisa) Vasquez; two sisters, Diane (Joe) Romero and Angie Vasquez, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.


Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at Colonial Funeral Home with Holy Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 11, 2018 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Interment will be at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery at 1:00 p.m.
